Security

When you're living in a coop, it is your responsibility to think about not only your/your family's security but that of your neighbors as well. Here are some things you can do to ensure the safety of all shareholders:

  • Get to know your neighbors. Take advantage of the annual meeting, the garden clean up days, the co-op BBQ, and other common events to meet and become familiar with your neighbors.

  • Never buzz anyone in without first hearing their voice on the intercom.

  • Always make sure the front door closes behind you when you enter or exit a building.

  • The gate between B & C buildings should be locked at 9 PM every evening. If you open it please make sure the gate is re-locked. The gate behind E building is kept locked 24/7.

  • Do not be shy about calling the 108th Precinct (718-784-5411) or 911 if you see someone acting suspicious.
